KMEA In-Service Workshop: Febrary 26-28, 2015
The Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) holds an In-Service Workshop (ISW) for music educators and members of the National Association for Music Education each year. This year, the KMEA ISW will be February 26-28th, 2015 at the Century II Convention Center in Wichita, KS. The ISW provides current and future music educators professional development workshops and lectures as well as concerts given by top school ensembles from across the state. Registration costs for K-State NAfME members are paid by the chapter - meaning all members need to do is to fill out this registration form and arrange transportation and lodging. For more information, see the K-State NAfME KMEA page.
Conn-Selmer Institute: June 7-10, 2015
Each summer, Conn-Selmer hosts a high-caliber music education conference in Mishawaka, IN. This "KMEA on steroids" is an absolutely amazing opportunity for future and current music educators. Activities include clinics from the best music educators in the nation, presentations from top music businesses (including Wenger and Hal Leonard), a tour of the only instrument production line in the US, concerts from various top professional ensembles (such as Canadian Brass), and invaluable networking opportunities with some of the most influential music educators in the United States. Clinicians and staff include Paula Crider, Richard Saucedo, Tim Lautzenheiser, K-State's own Dr. Tracz - and many more! The unique networking opportunities, resources, and wisdom to be gained from this conference are beyond measure. Registration covers the cost of housing, food, and the clinic. Discounted rates for early registration and college students are available.
